M. 2017

My name is M.  I am 49 years old, and I’ve spent most of my life, from the age of 10 years old, in and out of boys homes and prison. I’ve been in prison this time around for the past 18 years.

2 years ago, I turned my life over to Jesus, because my life was going nowhere. It has been hard for me at times. But when I read a book about someone like me, that has turned their life around, it gives me hope, courage, and strength to keep going. Just like the book “Bloodline” by John Turnipseed. It gives me hope that if he could change his evil ways, so could I.

So, I would like to put my support behind the Lifeblood curriculum at Lotus Glen prison. Maybe if there was something like this run in prison when I was young, it could have turned my life around a lot sooner, than later.

This program could help some younger kids now before they go down the same roads I did.

Yours sincerely

M.

E. 2017

Hi, my name is E. I am a Torres Strait Islander, and am 41 years old.

I have been in and out of prison since I was 26 years old. I was involved in a lot of criminal activity when I was young.  In 2008 I was imprisoned for 12 years.  In 2009 I gave my life to Jesus, since then I have read a lot of books until I came across a book called ‘Bloodline’ by John Turnipseed.

By reading this book really encouraged me by how he lived a gangster lifestyle, and along in his struggle he came across Jesus and did the same thing I did.

I am writing in support, and encourage that if they could allow the Lifeblood Curriculum program to be run in Lotus Glen Prison. As an Indigenous man, I do believe that this program will help a lot of indigenous men and inmates in Lotus Glen prison.

I know and believe that a lot of Indigenous young men are influenced by the African American Gangster lifestyle. Because I used to be one of them, who thought like that.

Thank you.

Yours sincerely

E.

B. 2019

I had a good upbringing and a great family that loved me. I went to one of the best schools in Australia where teachers actually cared and had a passion to teach.

The industry I got into was, at that stage, very rough, criminally focused, drug focused, high income, low morals, anti-government and authority.

In 2011 I was finally charged for multiple offences stretching over several years.

I met up with Eddie. He invited me to come to LifeBlood and the course was amazing. It reaffirmed and cemented my new life as a Christian. LifeBlood to me is more than the amazing program, it is a bunch of individuals who I can walk beside, looking at, to see what real men look like and act like. I am not judged for my past but held accountable if any signs of the old man appear. They encourage me to use what I was in the past to help others now while striving to create a new destiny and path into the future. I am now a Christian on fire for God, loving everyone where they're at, wanting to see men who are slowly self-imploding, find release through this beautiful and amazing God that saved me by sending me to jail.

Thank you to all the amazing crew at LifeBlood for your love and just being there.

L. 2017

Hello,

My name is L., and I wish to put forward my support for the start-up of the Lifeblood Curriculum here at Lotus Glen Correctional Centre.

I have currently served 12 years of a 23-year sentence, and I was greatly encouraged by John Turnipseed’s book ‘ Bloodline’. Whilst I am fortunate to have family support, who are not involved in criminal activities, I know the same cannot be said for so many of my fellow inmates.

Having done a year of Peer Support work here at Lotus Glen, I have helped many inmates, who I would class as being trapped in the cycle of crime and prison life, simply because, they have never had an alternative option presented to them.

The ability to say No to family and friends who only exist on the other side of the law does take courage and support.

I would gladly participate in whatever capacity to help facilitate positive change in the lives of these my fellow inmates.

Sincerely,

L.

A. 2021

My Journey to Life Blood began at the Mareeba State School while working with the kids. The question I asked is why are these children behaving like this, disobedient, no respect. I though it could be culture, but deep down my thought was towards a religious belief, in Aboriginal culture it is a spiritual belief so I took it to my supervisor Christine who gave me a phone number for Eddie Pearce.  Eddie Pearce introduced me to Life Blood.

Through reading the book I learnt of the journey that he had gone through and how GOD has entered his life and lead him to the life blood curriculum.

Within the belly of the curriculum, I learnt of the roles farther play within the family structure keeping family safe, feed, clothed and protecting them from the boogie man were the father or family members can become the boogie man.

A child’s journey to adolescent and adulthood is not smooth sailing there are many obstacles to avoid and through the Blood Line curriculum there is a step-by-step process to encourage change within the people it touches.

My journey leads me back to GOD and the belief in something so powerful and yet gentle in the knowledge that he is the father of men the alfa and omega, so to day I am learning of the journey to the kingdom of heaven.

Once in a while a loved member looses track of the big picture and they react for not getting their own way.  We're sorry to say that one solid testimony from a man that showed great growth in character, is no longer available.  He asked for his testimony to be removed.

We ask anyone who reads this message to pray for all members of LifeBlood to grow in maturity and strength as wiser servants of Christ.  As a team we care for all people associated with LifeBlood. We will all pray for they're return, when they're ready.
